That sounds like my mother-in-law's family. There were two cousins with the same name in the town: Peter Endries. One decided to drop the "i" so he would not be confused with the other.

So one branch of the family is Endries and one is Endres.

While I'm here....I would love to "talk" to anyone with any information on the Endries/Endres family that went from Prussia to Manitowoc County in Wisconsin. I have quite a few names but very few dates and places.

Thanks,
Cindy
