Engelhard Endres, 1870 from Bavaria, d. 1929 in MO

Engelhard immigrated to US through NY in 1870. He joined the U.S. Army, 23rd Inf. Married Emma Faas/Fees/Feese, probably in Wamego, Pottawatomie Co. Kansas, abt 1885. They had two children, Nellie and Roy George Endres. The family were stationed somewhere in North Dakota; at Ft. Clark, Brackettville, TX; at Salt Lake City, UT, and perhaps other locations. He retired with family to St. Louis, MO, in 1902. Died in 1929.

According to census records, he was born in Bavaria, July 15, 1855. Different census records spell his name differently. Also spelled Englehadt. I suspect it should be Englehardt? I don't know who his German family was or where in Bavaria he was from.

Doe this man fit into anyone's family out there?
