Some of Gov John Endicott decendants became what he hated and killed-- Quakers.

I have just now been trying to find out info on my Endicott family line. If my information is correct I come from Gov John Endicott's son Zerubbabel and his wife Mary Smith.

Mary Smith and Zerubbabel Endicott. I only know how to give my family line since that is what I have been researching.

***Mary Smith and Zerubbabel Endicott (son to Gov. John Endicott)
They had:Hannah Endicott

***Hannah Endicott born 1676
she married:
Edward Gaskill(son of the Quaker heroine Provided Soutwick)

I find it interresting that those 2 married. Because John Endicott was said to be a persecuter of the Quakers and this Gaskill's mother was a big time Quaker along with her parents all whom had been beat, treated horribly, enslaved and thrown in jail by the Puritins (Gov John Endicott) because they were Quakers. So just think what a funny slap in the face it was to Grandpa Gov. John Endicott when his granddaughter Hannah Endicott married a Quaker and not just any Quaker but one of notoriety. According to the below site link John Endicott was around when Provided Soutwicks parents were being treated badly for being Quakers.

I bet old grandpa John Endicott got his beared all in a twist when his granddaughter up and married a famouse Quaker family! Ha ha.

Hannah Endicott and Edward Gaskill had:

Joseph Gaskill
Zorubabel Gaskill
Zerubabel Gaskell
Provided Gaskill
Samuel Gaskill
Hanna Gaskill
Edward Gaskill Jr.
Braord Gaskell
Benjamin Gaskill
Ebenezer Gaskill
Joseph Gaskill

***Edward Gaskill Jr. married Elizabeth Lippincott.

If old Grandpa Gov John Endicott had been alive during this marriage he would have no dout flipped another lid because once again one of his decendants married a family line of Quaker heroines who had been persecuted by the puritins for their Quaker beliefs.

Elizabeth Lippincott's great grandfather was Richard Lippincott who had went threw some rather awful stuff due to religious persecution. An online search will show a lot of his history and the interresting names of his kids.

Elizabeth's grandmother was Hannah Shattuck who was a decendant of the same Shattucks that Gov John Endicott presecuted horribly by cutting their ears off and so on.

The Children of this couple had the strong Quaker heroine blood in their veins of the persecuted victims of Gov John Endicott and his fellow Puritins. (the Shattucks, the Lippincotts and the Southwicks)

Edward Gaskill Jr. and Elizabeth Lippincott had:
Lucretia Gaskill born 1744

***Lucretia Gaskill married John Stephens

They had:

John Stephens Jr.

***John Stephens Jr. married unknown possibly a Rachel?

and they had:
Fanny Stephens
Amy Stephens
Elizabeth Stephens
Phebe Stephens
Lucretia Stephens
James Stephens
Rachel Stephens-born JULY 31, 1806 in OH
Sarah Stephens-born AUG 15,1809 in GreeneCo, PA

OK this is where it gets confusing. Keep an eye on both of the sisters named Rachel and Sarah.

***Rachel Stephens Married Ambrose Rucker.
Ambrose had already been married to a Sarah Steele and they had the following kids:
Lemuel S Rucker--born June 13, 1809 in VA (keep an eye on Leamuel)
Mary Rucker
Edith Rucker
Samuel Rucker
Jahn Rucker
James Rucker
William Rucker
Sarah Rucker
John Rucker
Elizabeth Rucker

OK so after having 10 kids Sarah Steele Rucker understandably dies.

So Ambrose meets up with Rachel Stephens who is the same age as his kids. Yes Rachel marries an old man. OK now that that is out in the open here are the kids of Rachel Stephens and Ambrose Rucker:

Levi Rucker
Meriman Rucker
Stephen Rucker
Phebe Rucker
Nelson Rucker
Ambrose N Rucker
Aaron Lysias Rucker
Wesley Rucker
Rachel J Rucker
Amy Anna Rucker

Poor Rachel Stephens, she had to have been one tuckered out mama! OK I dont come from Rachel Stephens but I do come form her sister Sarah Stephens. Here is where it gets weird.

***SARAH Stephens marries Lemuel Rucker.
Remeber when I said above to keep an eye on Lemuel? Well here is why-->Lemuel is the son of Ambrose Rucker who married Rachel Stephens whom is Sarah's sister.
So Lemuel marries his step aunt and his step mother becomes his sister in law. His wife becomes his dads sister in law. So good old daddy Ambrose Rucker and son Lemuel Rucker married sisters. Confused yet?

Anyways Sarah Stephens and Lemuel Rucker had:
Emily Rucker
Asbury B Rucker
Elias Rucker b: SEP 1839 in MonroeCo, OH
Silas Rucker b: SEP 1839 in MonroeCo, OH
William L Rucker
Mary Elizabeth Rucker
James F Rucker

Elias and Silas Rucker were twins. Both served in the cival war.

***Elias Rucker married Sarah Jane Justice and they had:
My grandpa William Rucker who was a WW1 hero that won the Croix de Guerre award.
------------------------------------------------------

Both Ambrose and Leamuel Rucker are decendants of Peter Rucker who came to America on a Hugenot ship. Hugenots were a Christian group of non-catholics that were being religiously persecuted in Europe. They came to America to try and find religious freedom at about the same times Gov John Endicott was around. Opps that did not go over so well either. According to what I read the Hugenots ended up conforming to other non-catholic Christian denominations here in America over the years like Quakers and Baptist because of the religious persecution they had to endure here.

Makes me wonder what good old grandpa Gov John Endicott would have thought of the Hugenots? I cant find much info saying he either liked or dissliked them. But they were persecuted by the Puritins which Gov John Endicott was. Perhaps he would have liked them because I read both he and them were calvinist so they would have shared simliar beliefs.

I know I have been picking on Grandpa Gov John Endicott but I also found some good stuff about him. I read he was a just and fair man when he wanted to be. He just had some kind of religious hang up. Below is a link about him.

So in this line of poor old Grandpa Gov John Endicott the blood of those he hated so much flows. The Quakers. Even tho he tortured, enslaved, imprisoned and killed them the Quakers still lived on and they not only lived on they stuck it to him by marrying into his blood line over and over.
