Wilmet Endicott

I have seen postings that Wilmet Endicott's maiden name was either Nation or Phillips. Wilmet Endicott is listed in the 1850 Posey Co, IN census in Harmony Twp within the household of John and Elizabeth Endicott, hh#150/150. She is age 75 b NC.

I would like to know if her maiden name was Phillips or Nation and a source for that information.

In hh#154/154 (4 doors away) is Wilmet Phillips age 45 with Amanda 18, George 15 and James 12. I have drawn a huge conclusion that this Wilmet Phillips might be the same one listed in the 1840 Warrick Co, IN census in Ohio Twp and possibly the widow of James Phillips who was in Ohio Twp, Warrick Co 1830. (Wilmet probably his 2nd wife)

I would like to know if this Wilmet Phillips' maiden name was Endicott and when and where she may have married a Phillips. Any little tidbits would help!

I am a descendant of John P. Phillips (b bef 1774) and his 2nd wife, Permelia Stallings, married Jan 1810 in Logan Co, KY. Permelia is the dtr of Wright Stallings and Mary Hunter. So far, I have been unable to find one Phillips in IN, KY or NC related to my John P. Phillips. I have been tracking down every Phillips in three states in an effort to find any clue. (I have exhausted the Stallings line for possible connections.) I am also to the point of tracking down every family who settled Posey, Gibson and Warrick Co, IN!

My family lore is John P. Phillips was b NC. I would dearly love to find a sister, brother or parents for him. His origins have evaded my family researchers for 3 generations. I am determined to find a clue before I die! (Am I driven, or what?!)

Thank you for any help.
Wanda Pitt
