I am hoping to get in contact with descendants of this family. Charles Emrich and his son William were one of the first 15 businesses in the town of Wilmont, Nobles County, MN in 1900. They were the only blacksmith business in town.

They moved first to Alba, MN from LaSalle County, IL. Charles had married Sophia "Sofie" Hess in Ottawa, IL in 1873. They had 10 children....Cora b. 1874; Herman b. 1877 d. 1898; George b. 1878; William Carl b.1880 d. 1949 Los Angeles; Edwin "Ted" b. 1882; Mabel Mariett Emrich Wieck b. 1884 d. 1953 Merced,CA She married a William A. Wieck d. 1954 Santa Clara, CA; Arthur b.1885; John b.1888; Frank L. b. 1890 d. 1962 Contra Costa County, CA; Maud S. b. 1893 Alba, MN

In 1900 census Charles is listed as a widow living in Wilmont, Nobles Co.,MN. He is still living in Wilmont, MN in the 1905 census. Any additional information on this family would be appreciated.

Their mother Sophia "Sofie" Hess was my great-grandmother Christina's sister. I have a 1877 photo of Christina. I have a lot of genealogy information about the HESS family from Hessen Darmstadt, Germany. Would be very interested in contacting any descendants and seeing photos of the family. Thank you, Joanne
