Hi to all
Concerning the Capshaw/Emory story, it appears that
Carrill D who was enumerated with Ester Capshaw was not a Capshaw. According to info we have received recently DNA testing proves that. I believe all of the other children living in the household with Ester were Capshaws and have been accounted for in later years. According to our records, which are not proven btw, Josiah and Elizabeth Capshaw had a son, John Thomas, who married Ester, also known on census records as Hester. He died and she married Joseph Grammer. She later charged him with desertion and divorced him. Why there was an Emory living with her I have no clue. Could she have been an Emory before marrying a Capshaw?
