JOHNAMORY b.c.1698-1705 Englandd. 1746 South Carolina. He was buried 5 October 1746 at St. Philip’s Parish, Charleston, South Carolina.He m(1) SARAH WILSON on 13 February1726 in Lincolnshire, England.She was b. England and was buried 31 March 1765 at St. Philip’s Parish, Charleston, South Carolina (as SARAH NIGHTINGALE).They emigrated to Savannah, Georgia in December 1737 but in December 1738 they moved to Charleston, South Carolina.He was a surveyor and an Indian trader.His widow married two more Indian traders:William ELDER(S), who
d.1748, then Thomas NIGHTINGALE (b.1716 d.1769).
John Amory also had a child by m(2) MARY (MOORE) AYERS.(b.c.1720 d.c.1751).
She was the Cherokee daughter ofJAMES or JOHN MOORE and a Cherokee woman of Keowee.She was the consort ofThomas AYERS, the Cherokee Agent of Georgia.
