Can't answer all your questions but maybe shed some light. I do not believe John was married to Mary Catherine Manley, but likely to Mary Carden/Cardin. Haven't found him on 1810 census but he is on 1816 Clark Co., Mississippi Territory census -- 3 males over 21, 2 males under 21; 1 female over 21; 3 females under 21 (still doesn't make sense does it?). As to Tincy -- John had a daughter who married Millikin Patrick abt 1835, they had 3 children, Nancy, Luke and Wm. Jackson. This wife died before Dec. 1847 when Patrick mar. Jency/Jincy (Jane) Rumbley. John names the 3 on a deed of land in 1848. Jency is on the 1850 census, look closely; she dies before June 1854 and Mr. Patrick marries Martha Emmons (nee Salter) who is widow of Washington Emmons (son of John). I have copies/transcripts of John's deeds, will, estate inventory, censuses, War of 1812 records, marriage certificates -- these records from NARA microfilm and a trip to Monroe County, Ala., early this year. Contact me via personal e-mail. Joan
