Hello Carole,Sorry to hear about Robert, the last time I visited Flamborough-he was there with his van-and I was going to go and introduce myself-BUT someone wanted a Crab-so I hung back.SHE-whoever -wanted him to open it for her-to see inside-OOO he sounded JUST like my Gran would have done at such a request.I wondered about the Megginson-as Gran used to reel off names, and I remember my Dad writing home-possibly AFTER D Day as he had met Tom Megginson.
No we left Shirley about twenty years ago,we live near Evesham now-in the area that my husband's family came from in 1700s.Our Daughter Diane -she has been to Flamborough last year with her partner and her son David-they loved it too,we DID bring all three children when small.
We live at -OAKLEA,Station Road,Honeybourne,Evesham WR11 7 QG. I would like to keep in touch too.
When you look at records etc,PLEASE do not believe that my g grandad William Ball was a Lancashire man-OR that his dad was a Flamborough man-it throws it all wrong, they were a Middleton,North Warwickshire family, and the family worked for Lord Middleton who has land all over,as you will know.HE(g grandad) came to East Yorkshire, obviously the Brid/Flamborough area, whilst I came the other way to marry MY Warwickshire man.
Hope to hear soon,IF I have missed anything-I will answer again. Jean
