Hi Brian, I really have no idea where the photos were taken. My family is from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They arrived in the 1660's and for the most part stayed put. Members did sometimes live in Baltimore, so I've wondered if maybe that's were these folks lived. There are a lot of Emmerick's (pick your spelling) in northern & western Maryland. My dad remembered cousin Will visiting when he was a very small child, but wasn't sure where he was visiting from. The photo of Great-Great-Aunt Carrie is relatively straight forward: a pleasant looking middle-aged victorian lady who's smiling. The one of cousin Will is likely a photo backdrop, but he seems to be leaning on a wrought-iron balustrade, and he has a waxed moustache. He is wearing a straw boater, so I'd say "dapper" is the right word. Rob Notify Administrator about this message?
