Luke Emlen showed up in VA around 1730 and obtained a land grant. He is listed as an Emlen, like the Geo. Emlen line out of Phil, PA. But, he does not show up in Geo's will. I think he is the son of William Emley from Burl. Co, NJ. A Abigail Emley m a Woodward in Burl. Co, about 1720 and they had a son Luke. Luke is not a common name and could be named after her brother. Abigail is not shown on the list of ch of Wm Emley in a few lines that I have seen, so she may be from another line. Does anyone have Luke as a son of William, of seen ref to him in NJ?
