Emley Family Genealogy Forum

Thanks for your note. I suspect that they may be distant cousins of some sort since I think most of the English Emleys in this country are descended from William Emley and his four sons. The time period of the births you mention would be the same as my great great grandfather Maximo Emley's in Franklin, Warren Co. Ohio. He had a younger brother named Joseph who died at 8 months in 1854....I suspect that perhaps my Maximo and your Joseph may have been cousins having father's who were brothers. Maximo's father's name was Fletcher and his mother was Sarah Chamberlin daughter of James Chamberlin originally from NJ as were all of the Emleys originally.
There appear to be a whole branch of the family the moved to Indiana but I am not closely related to that branch. My great grandfather was an only child and had one son William P. Emley who was my maternal grandfather. If I learn any more about the Indiana Emley's I will certainly notify you. I am trying to trace back the connection from Fletcher Emley to see which of William Emley's four sons our branch descends from.....Good luck!
