Are you looking for immigration information of your ancestors from Guanajuato, Mexico to California, U.S.? Have you found the family in a US census? Hopefully it will list the year of their emigration from Mexico. However, if they came by land borders pre-1906, information was not required like they were for ship passenger arrivals. (True also for Canadians at land borders, pre-1895, to U.S.).

A lot of good information here:

National Archives, Washington, D.C.
http://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/border-mexico.html

Mexican Border Crossing Records
approx. 1903 - 1955

&

Arizona Ports
California Ports
New Mexico Ports
Texas Ports

I hope you are successful in finding information!
