Ship departures from Cork in autumn 1880

I know the date my ancestor sailed from Cork--shortly after 18 Nov 1880--but I don't know the ship he sailed on or its destination. Is there any way to check the "Shipping News" in Cork papers of the time period to ID names of ships that sailed? If I can narrow down my search of passenger lists to ships he might have travelled on, I can search microfilmed passenger lists (not all arrival ports have passenger arrivals indexed, so I've got to go page by page where they don't). Has anyone compiled ship departures from Cork, or are Cork newspapers available for browsing online or microfilm that I could borrow through interlibrary loan? Thank you! Kay
