An Antonio Assunto registered for the WWI draft in New Haven, CT on June 5, 1917. He said he was 30 years old, born 14 Feb 1887 in Civetella/llo, Bonevento, Italy. His address was 246 Orange Ave., West Haven, CT; he was a machine operator for C. ?Carules? & Co. in New Haven; was a declarant (had filed first papers) and was married with 3 children. Antonio was of medium height and medium build with brown eyes and black hair.
You didn't mention an Edmund Assunto as being another child so I don't know if this is the correct family in the 1920 New Haven, CT census:
head, John Asunto, 62, bp Italy, both parents' bp Italy,
immigrated 1890, alien, sweeper-hardware shop
wife, Mary, 54, Italy, both parents' bp Italy, immigrated 1896, alien
son, Edmund, 16, bp CT
John and Mary probably married 1896-1902. I would suggest you contact the church they attended (or the diocese) who may have their marriage and the childrens' baptism records.
I am not related.
