Sorry about that! Don't know why I posted that info. I meant to post the info from the Philadelphia arrival, but I guess I posted that in an earlier post.... so here it is again

This would appear to be your family. There are some notations on the manifest which would be when Schmeil applied for Citizenship. There is a date of 1940 stamped on near his name and the number 505, which meant that there was a discrepency between the person applying and the person listed on the manifest. Could be as simple as the given name difference.
As far as the birthdates and dates of arrival, I would not take them as exact. Often times census records, obits and family recolections are not accurate. The only accurate source for births would be found in Europe. In the case of Jewish people I am not certain what type of record would have been made. I know in the case of Christians baptismal records were the official records as some areas civil registrations did not begin until the 1940s.
