Cost of round trip transatlantic ocean liner trip in 1931

Would anyone know where I can find info on what it cost for a Massachusetts family of six, 2 adults and 4 children, to sail, round trip from N.Y. to Naples, Italy in 1931?
This was during the depression and my Italian grandfather was a cook in a well known Boston hotel.
The family was gone for four months and supposedly he took out a $10,000 mortgage on their home to pay for the trip.
The children, still alive today, remember they had a nice cabin on board, probably 2nd class and they were wondering what it cost their parents for this trip.
Train trip to N.Y. then sailing to Italy seems like quite an exspense when times were tough.
Thank you in advance for any direction you can give me. Vera
