When did Mary Russell go to America?

My Great Aunt Mary Russell was born 24 January 1871 Kilsyth, Stirling to parents William Russell and Catherine McKenzie. At some stage she travelled to America. During her time there she sent a postcard from Winsted, Connecticut, to her sister in New Zealand. The date is not on the postcard but I presume it was from 1904 as that when her sister was married. She mentioned that she had been in Winsted prior to the building of the new First Congregational Church which was built possibly early 1900.

I would appreciate if someone could check up for me as to when Mary might have emigrated to Connecticut.

Thanking you
