My Amey/Emigh (Eighmy?) family lived in Putney, Windham, VT priot to moving to New York. I think that My Mary Amey must have been born in the middle to late 1700s since her granddaughter was born in 1836 or so.

It is possible that somewhere there is a connection. I am going to check the land records for VT next. Thanks too for the Houghton-Eighmy connection. All that we know right now is that Joel Houghton, whose father fought in the Revolutionary War, lived in VT and married a Mary Amey-Emigh. They both moved to Otsego, New York.
