Emigh's in Southwestern Ontario

Through our historical research, my wife and I have been in touch with a William Emigh from western Canada, whose ancestors were prominent business people in Blyth, Ontario around 1900. His family moved to Blyth from Norwich. They operated a hotel in Blyth and one in Walton, Ont. which is very close to Blyth. (Blyth is a small but very vibrant village -pop. 1000).

He has asked us to help fill in information about his family's connection with the Taman and Carter families. We have found a great deal of this information and would be happy to share it with others who may be researching this line.

This Emigh family was always very keen on baseball and apparently promoted te game wherever they lived. We are now the proud custodians of a silver cup which was presented to James Emigh (1870 - 1902) by the Blyth Baseball Club in 1889. We believe James was coach of that team.

This Emigh line traces back to William Emigh (b.1800 m. Eliza Jane Edmonds (a Quaker) d. 1844) and his brother Ezekiel who were born around 1800.
