I'm not sure if this is the same John Emery and Betsey Johnson, but
I'll include the following (John's birth date is different than the
year you state, but they had a daughter named Elizabeth who married
Wm. H. Merrill.):
According to the book "John & Anthony Emery and Their Decendants"
John Emery m. Betsey Johnson and had 9 children, all born in Poland,
Maine:

John Emery is decended from Anthony Emery, 2nd son of John and Agnes Emery.
Anthony and his brother John sailed to America in the ship "James" and
landed in Boston in 1635. Anthony lived in Newbury, MA, Dover, NH, and
Kittery, ME
