This is the information I have from a family booklet (a booklet which is not 100% accurate): "Sarah Martha Emery was born in Germany, March 16, 1831. Her parents died when she was quite young and she was raised by an uncle. She had at least one sister in the states, Minerva Emery Oxford. Minerva had two sons, Emery and Ted. The Emerys had quite a sum of money left to them by relatives in Germany, but no one ever went over there to claim it." Sarah Emery married Jonathan Frank Hunt in Delaware County, Indiana. She died in 1900 (in Hartford City, IN). I'm not at all sure that Sarah Emery and her sister Minerva were born in Germany. Oftentimes, such a statement really means that they were of German descent (maybe their parents or grandparents were from Germany). Instead, Sarah may have been born in Indiana or Ohio. Any informaiton would be appreciated. Thanks.
