Marie Emery of Scappoose, Ore., died Feb. 15, 2009. She was 63.
Marie Thierman was born Aug. 2, 1945, in Portland to Bruce and Helen Thierman.
She attended Sitton, James John and Assumption grade schools, North Catholic High School, University of Portland School of Nursing, and graduated from Oregon Health and Science University Dental Hygiene School.
On Dec. 22, 1965, she married Jim Emery.
Loving her work, she practiced dental hygiene for 41 years. Since 1987 she practiced with Dr. Andreotti in Scappoose.
Among the things she enjoyed were gardening, reading, sketching, and folk and ballroom dancing.
Most everyone she came in contact with she loved and cared for.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years Jim Emery, sons Michael, Jon, David, and Daniel; sisters Rosemary Barnard, Betty Drenkhahn, and Frances Boge-Brown; and brother Robert Thierman.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at Scappoose Foursquare Church, 33404 S.W. JP West Rd., Scappoose.
