Does anyone know anything about a Frederick B. Emery b. 1826 in New York? He was married first to a Mary (unknown) and had a daughter Mary b. 1857 in Minneapolis MN, and Francis R. Emery b. 1859/60 also in MN per the 1860 Minneapolis/MN census.
Mary must have died either in MN or in route to CA because the next time I find Fred. B. Emery he is in LA, CA with a new wife (Sarah Barzilla Dotson born abt 1845 in MO)and three more children: William, Maybelle and Nahum. This census (1880 San Antonio/Los Angeles/CA) indicates that Fred's parents were born in Maine.
I do see this odd name Nahum Emery, for several generations of Emery's there in York/ME and other towns in ME so it is probable that this Frederick B. Emery is a descendant of one of the Nahum's from ME.
I sure could use some more info on this very illusive family..ANY help will be greatly appreciated.
