Mr. Hagler, AND ANY OTHERS, perhaps you can help me. I'm new at this and I hit a brick wall at my GG-Grandpa. ONE of our family's histories is that the name was originally German, so your note got my attention.
My Dad is I. W. Emery (1923 in Harlan Co, KY - living)
Married Faye Elizabeth Randolph (1931 in Renssalear, IN - 2000 in Nicholasville, KY). They married in 1953 in Muncie, IN.
His Dad was Ishmael Worth Emery (1875 in Putnam Co, TN - 1951 in Cumberland Co, TN).
Married Fidella Emily Woody (1885 in Cumberland Co, TN - 1946 in Cumberland Co, TN). They married in 1902 in Cumberland Co, TN.
His Dad was Hiram Taylor Emery (1848 in Chestnut Mound, TN - 1918 in Putnam Co, TN).
Married Ferby Catherine Kidwell (1848 in White Co, TN - 1930 in Putnam Co, TN). I've misplaced their marriage date for now.
His Dad was Joseph Robert (Joe Bob) Emery (dates unknown) who MAY have come from the Carolinas to TN (indications are he is buried at France Cemetery in or near Crossville, TN).
Married Rachel Finney (1820 - 1879) who is shown in the 1860 census alone (I think I remember in Putnam Co, but I'm not sure) raising 12 year old Hiram and his brothers / sisters (names not written down, sorry).
