Sorry to be so long replying. This is such a large site that I had missed your own follow-up earlier. Actually, I cannot help much. All I can say is this:
(1) Horological directories include a number of Emery clock and watchmakers in the 18th Century - both in London and in Southampton.
(2) Although I cannot connect to these families myself (yet?), we intermarried with huguenots who had fled France at the beginning of the 18th Century.
(3) A few years ago I met a Swiss who sent me details of the large number of Emerys in a particular canton of Switzerland (near Lausanne, if I remember correctly.
Anyway, even if this is not of much use, it is nice to meet someone else from the UK with an interest in the Emerys. I am afraid that our American cusind seem to be obsessed with trying to connect to the Emery who went from Romsey to the New World in the early 17th Century.
