According to the 1870 Illinois census, Johnson CO, Elijah Emery lists his place of birth as TN. His age is listed as 27, his wife is Mary A., age 25, and there are 4 children: son Willis, age 7; daughter Susan, age 4; son James, age 2; son William, age 3 months. I have nothing to substantiate the brother connection between Elijah and Jefferson Monroe except the postings on this forum, but I do agree that is likely, since both seem to have Peter Emery and Frankie A. Warren as parents.
