Something you might try is to call the town clerk in Groton VT and order a copy of Mr. Glover's Groton. There is some Emery info there. It says that the Emery's in Groton came from Shapleigh, Maine (and nearby Emery Mills, Maine. Groton is a small town, and if I remember when I visited there, the clerk's office is only open a couple days a week. I don't remember for sure, though.
