I am tracing my Emery ancestors who came from Stone in Staffordshire,UK and John is certainly a popular family name.I have found around 200 Emery descendents from this area, including 18 Johns. As my search has mainly been prior to the 1850's I have not come across the John you mention but suspect that if he did indeed come from Stone then he is likely to be related to my great-grandfather,who was born in 1850.I shall look into this urgently and shall let you know if I can resolve the matter. In the meantime if you can provide me with any further details, especially John's parents or any siblings I would be grateful
