Do you have any dates for your Dr. John Emery...I have a Dr John Emery, one of five brothers who were sons of John Emery Jr and his wife, Susanna Bartlett. John and Susanna lived in Newbury, Mass but moved to Lyndon, Vt about 1790. Four of the five boys became doctors including: John, Daniel, Josiah Bartlett Emery, and George Reid Emery. The fifth boy, Samuel, became a lawyer.
Daniel married and remained in Lyndon but had no issue. Several of the family moved to Ohio and George followed in 1817. I can't say whoelse moved to Ohio..sister Alphia after George. Harriet married Harlow Bailey and had a daughter Gertrude who married John G Croxton. Sister Lydia married Benjamin Smith. the last daughter, Henrietta married William Beach and had son, Dr. Samuel Beach who married Jane McGregor.
I don't have any information on the sons, except Dr. George who was my great great great grandfather. I have seen a reference to a moved the family made in 1833 from Thompson in Geauga Co. to Spencer, Ohio, stopping on the way in Wadsworth, Ohio to visit Dr. John Emery and the family of Henrietta Emery, Dr. George's deceased sister. I found your posting while looking for an earlier posting from Roger Cramer who was looking for the descendants of Jared T Emery whose parents were born in Vt. Several of the family ended in Stephenson co Ohio. Dr. George moved his family in 1839 very nearby to the Winnebago/Stephenson Co line.
They had a relative in the area already, though I think it was the sister of Dr. George's second wife, Polly Stevens. Hope this helps...please let me know if you make the connection. I would love to share more info and receive some in return. Mallory Smith mallorymail@aol.com
