Nita,
The son Francois that you mentioned, what do you know of him? I am looking for information on Francis Emery (Sr?), who I believe was once Francois Emery dit Coderre or some such variation. The family changed the name to Emery, but my great grandmother recalled the name Emery de Cadre (spelled phonetically). Francis was a native of Canada (according to his naturalization paperwork) and we are estimating his year of birth to be about 1816.
They settled in West Chazy, NY.
Any suggestions on where i should turn next?
