Researching my g grandfather John Emery/Hembree b: 1843, Brush Creek, Knox Co., KY. He was in the 49th Regiment of KY Volunteers, 1863-1864. He was married at least 2 times, maybe more. His last wife was my g grandmother, Rhoda Johnson b: 1880 Lee Co., VA. John died probably around 1930 and is buried in Bell Co., KY. Rumor has it, his name was mispelled in the military records and rather than correcting it, he left it be so as not to disrupt his military pension. His previous children went by the Hembree name, but Rhoda and her children used the Emery name. Can anyone help me find John's parents?
