!Found! Luce/Emerson-family bible-Erie Co. OH.1845
Upon researching and digging into my family's ancestry, many interesting family stories and "myths" have been proven, corrected, and re-edited. The story of my grandfather's mother's family however, remained a mystery until this last week.
With the help of a second cousin, it was discovered that she unknowingly posessed the 1845 personal family bible belonging to our ggggreat-grandparents; Lorenzo and Clarissa(Godfrey)Luce who were married March 12,1838 in Margaretta, Erie Co., Oh.
Previously unknown to either of us, or any of the other family for that matter, it was found in an old dusty box, tucked away, forgotten about and falling apart, one of the last remnants having been removed from my great grandmother Catherine(Fetter)Jacob's house in Toledo, OH when she died in 1974. Her still living daughter; Erma(Jacob)Jacksy, had all but forgotten about it herself, never knowing the significance it represented.
Now finally having been revealed by my cousin, and Erma's daughter, it has opened a door to a forgotten lineage of our Jacob family in Toledo, Ohio and presented a new collection of mysteries and details to solve and discover.
As my research has revealed very little correct or even existing information on the Luce or Emerson family lines in Ohio, I present and offer copies of the pertinent bible's pages to anyone wishing to have them for proof of documentation.
Following are a list of names, dates, and connections for quick reference. My cousin and I hope to reconnect with our past and living "lost" relatives and learn more about our family's history. We hope this helps with others following similar research as well.

*Note* the following information is sourced from information found within the bible and also extrapolated from personal family information not recorded within the bible*- This is the connecting line from which my family comes:
-Elsie May Emerson, Born April 17, 1876, is *possibly*! married in 1892, at the age of 16, to an unknown man, and has one child; Catherine, Born Feb 29, 1892
-Elsie Emerson is married May 11, 1898 to Raymond Fetter and Catherine is adopted, then taking on the last name of "Fetter" as she was known to have by our family's knowledge.; her true father currently still remaining a mystery
Additionally; two other unclarified records are made; "Alice Emerson, Born March 20, 1909", and; "Sarah Luce died 1876 at Millburg, Wood Co. OH."
-it is suspected that "Sarah Luce" is actually Luisa Luce, born Dec 4, 1848 to Lorenzo and Clarissa Luce.-this is yet unproven
-it is suspected that the Alice Emerson of 1909 was born to one of the male children of Alice and John B. Emerson; either to John Burton Emerson Jr., or Charley Emerson.-this is yet unproven.
*Finally, a side note says; "Mr. Burton Emerson, my dear Dady, dead on a Thursday". -my cousin and I agree that this notation, along with three others, were written by the hand of Elsie May Emerson sometime before 1941 when she died.
If you find any of this record to be familiar or relative to your family's research, please contact me; Scott A. Jacob, at my email address: [email protected] and I can either send copies of the actual bible pages, or discuss additional details and points of relevance. I hope to possibly connect with some of the people having more stories and answers regarding these relatives of ours and possibly reveal the mystery behind Catherine Fetter's true birth father!
Thank you for your attention.
