My grandmother was Anna Emerick. I have not searched her family tree yet. She died very young (in her late 20's). My great aunt , her sister always told a story of the connection between Astor and our relatives. I always thought it was just a story but I found a book online written in 1936 by C.I. Hoy named John Jacob Astor An Unwritten Chapter. It tells of the relationship between Astor and John Nicholas Emerick and also tells of the will he left and the lawsuits. It is very interesting.
