Hi Virginia, I have a Thomas Embury listed in my records as follows:
Thomas Embury: b. Aug 31, 1861; d. Jan 8, 1931; arried Lorinda McMullen.
Thomas was the son of Valentine D. Embury and Margaret Carscallen.
Valentine was the son of David Embury and Maria Empey (my 2nd great grandparents).
David was the son of John Edward Embury and Mary Detlor.
John Edward Embury was the son of David Embury and Margaret Sleet.
David Embury was the son of Andrew Embury (anglicized from Andreas Imberger)and Margrath Ruckel.
Perhaps this info will blend into your history--let me know if you need further help.
