Hi Willie,
Your information was wonderful! I feel so greedy, but I will take any information on Emburys that are part of my lineage that you have time for! I have a few bits for you too.
Jonas Anson Embury was naturalized in the U.S. on Nov.17,1888 from Canada. I found a marriage license that Jonas married a Lydia Demars in Battleboro VT on Sept.2,1916. This was his third marriage. He listed his parents as Jacob Anson Embury and Anna Gavion both born in Canada.
I also found a letter from Lydia Embury to Jonas dated May 26,1923 with a request for divorse, this was post marked from Pawtucket, RI.
I found one document for the original mortgage of Jonas' home in Willemansett MA. and a Nettie Embury was listed as co-owner. this was in 1891. I know Jonas had at least two sons. Charles, my great, grandfather and Lester. All I know about Lester was that he and Charles had a falling out, never reconsiled and Lester eventually retired to Florida. Charlesmarried Grace Walker and they had three children. Edward Anson(my Grandfather), Charles Willmington, and Lois.
Edward married Hellen Milldred Bock and they had one child. Marion Agnes(my mother). Charles married Melanie Macknic and did not have any children. Lois never married, but had a son named Charles Edward. To this day her son does not know who his father was. Charles did marry Mary Marsha Smith. They had two sons. Charles and David.
Sorry to cut this off, but I am late for a dinner date. I still have a little more info.
Stay in touch.
Melissa
