Philip Embury was born Sept. 1, 1728, probably Ballingrane, Ireland; married Margaret Switzer Oct. 31, 1758 in Rathkeale, Ireland (daughter of Christopher Switzer and Katherine Ruckel). Philip rec'd part of his education in German from Philip Guire, the Burgomaster at Ballingrane, Ireland; and part of his education in an English school at nearby Rathkeale, Ireland. He then started his career as an apprentice carpenter. Have never seen any records showing any Guire family member being part of any Embury family in both Ireland or America.
Philip died on his farm in the Camden Valley area of New York State, near Cambridge, in August,1773.
Regards,
Phil
