My mother is Ruth Rebecca Embrey (now Johnson), b. 1924, daughter of Otelia Huffman and David Nathaniel Embrey, in Hartwood, VA (near Fredericksburg). I know that David Nathaniel Embrey was the son of James Embrey, who was married to Sarah Jane Patton (first marriage) -- he was married a second time, though I do not know the name of his second wife.

I am trying to trace this line of the Embrey family further back, beyond James Embrey.

Any connection to the Embreys you are researching?
