Sian Blythe Embrey was my great-great-grandfather. His name in fact comes from his mother's maiden name Amelia Blythe.
The J.J. Embrey you refer to is actually Joseph Jackson Embrey.
He was born in 1808 probably in Oglethorpe County, most likely the son of Isaiah Embrey.
Prior to the Civil War, J.J. moved his family to McDonald County, Missouri.
I hope this is of some help to you.
