I'm looking for a possible connection between my EMREY ancestor and the name of
EMBREE--EMBREY--EMRICH--HEMBREE--etc:
Prudence EMREY (c.1720) married John LLOYD (1704 ENG)
1742 probably in Orange Co, VA.
These are the possiblities:
1. Prudence is possibly related to Stephen and George. They lived in ---Frederick Co, VA.
2. She is possibly related to EMBREY/EMBREE families of
---SUMMER DUCK RUN, FAUQUIER CO, VA who lived near
---family of O'REAR.
3. She is possibly related to German EMRICH families since 2nd and ---3rd generation LLOYDs in Frederick Co/Loudoun Co, VA married ---spouses with German surnames.
4. She is possibly related to JACOB EMREY of Loudoun Co, VA.
---DOES HE HAVE BROTHER/SON NAMED STEPHEN?
5. She is possibly related to undocumented blacksmithing and mining ---families from Germany who settled in Loudoun Co or Prince William ---Co, VA.
6. Her family may have moved from PA>VA as many of her neighbors ---did.
Although this LLOYD family were Quakers and members of Hopewell MM, research has possibly ruled out a connection with Moses Embree of Hempstead, L.I.>Chester Co, PA who was involved with Quakers who settled Hopewell.
Research has also possibly ruled out a connection with Robert Embree (1644) of New Haven, CONN unless it is through his undocumented son, JOSEPH.
