I am of the Moses Embree line and also thought they were different lines. I thought they must connect somehow also but knew that the Robert Embree line were French Hugenots.
I recently found this biography on Noah Embree the grandson of Jessie Embree who was the grandson of Moses Embree lll. The family lived in Logansport and Grant county Indiana for awhile - I found this paragraph in the biography interesting

Noah Embree was born in Vermillion county, Illinois, February 22, 1833, a son of Jesse Embree, who was a native of Preble county, Ohio, and came to Illinois as a young man. He was married in Vermillion county to Mary Hollingsworth, and both he and his wife were of Quaker parentage, although the Embree family came from England to America and were originally of French descent.
