Dona Vaughn sent the info about the death dates and burial sites for G. W. E., Sr. and Betsy Current Emberling. The couple's two daughters married brothers. Dona has lots of stuff that she has sent about Mary Barbery E. who married James Lewis Sparks in Denton Co.; the oldest child Glory married William Sparks and lived in Palo Pinto County near their uncle Levi Current. The Sparks brothers and two Emberling brothers joined the Confederates. J. L. Sparks returned, but his brother William was buried in the Con. Md. part of Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois--ironic, since his two half-brothers-in-law (David and Solomon Emberling) from Illinois were fighting for the Union. His death date is February 12, 1863--he had very little time in the service.--this is the only Texas William Sparks listed in the Confederate P.O.W.'s book--unless someone can add more information, this is probably Glory's first husband, since he never returned home. Can anyone supply more information about what happened to Glory and her two children after they stayed near their uncle's family for awhile? Still wondering where was William in the Civil War?
