Pretty sure Permelia was actually a EUBANK. The actual census microfilm (NARA M432, roll 397, p.174b)looks as though the census taker made an extra stroke of the pen on the "U". If you haven't seen the film, she was 65, a farmer, b. VA. Also in the household were Richard,23, b. MO; Mary Kaufman, 19, b. MO; and William Kaufman,22, b. VA. Permelia was probably the widow of George Eubank, who is listed in Cooper Co on the 1840 census. Cooper Co marriage records include the marriage of Mary Jane Eubank to William Cauffman in 1850, so the residents in Permelia's household were probably her son, daughter, and son-in-law.
