Carolyn, thanks for your message. Your post agrees what I recall reading in the Winn Parish (LA) Enterprise articles by the late, great Winn Parish historian, Harley B. Bozeman. I don't have the articles handy but I seem to recall a descendency from a governor in GA. Asa Emanuel was Winn Parish's first sheriff and was an officer in the Confederate army. What happened to him is a mystery to me, hence my post.

There is not doubt your line is the same, at least in my mind.
