I'm interested in Captain Lewis Ellzey of VA; I can't connect him up with my ancestor Lewis Ellzey, born in VA in about 1770. He married Eva Shaffer in South Carolina in 1792. Then arrived in MS in 1817. Family stories seem to connect him up with Capt. Lewis ("an ancestor slapped George Washington" for ex.) Any info on descendents of Capt. Lewis would be appreciated.
