I am researching Abraham Elzey who was chosen as guardian for my great-grandfather, Jacob R. Richeson and his wife Malinda Rosson Richeson in Marshall County Tn in l840. Am trying to determine the parentage of Jacob R. Richeson (b. 1822 in VA or TN, d. l871 in Johnson Co. TX). Am exploring the possibility that his mother could have been a sister to Abraham Elzey.
Here is what I have pieced together based on your information on William Elzey, Sr., Revolutionary Soldier (l758-1851).

The William Elzey, Sr. family (his pension record information and the 'family record'). Some of the dates are figured from the date of the documents. I figured the date of the pension application was about Sept. 1821 since that is when the two affidavits were dated--pension was granted in l823 apparently. I have taken names of apparent children from both documents (some in the family record are different than in the pension application). Some of the dates of birth not given could vary a year or two.
Parents: William Elzey, Sr. - born J-, 1758 in NC; died Sept. 3, 1851 in Marshall County, TN.
Enlisted in American Revolution in Fairfax County, VA in 1776 for three years. Served under Captain William Lane and later Captain Elisha Miller. Participated in
Battle of Amelia Island, Brier Creek, and the Seige of Savannah. He was taken prisoner by the British at the Seige of Savannah. He was wounded at Midway and
taken prisoner at Captain McIntosh'es (?) (It is not clear when this happened.)
After leaving the service, (ca. 1779) he "kept his discharge for 10 or 12 years, but
left them with his family when he removed to Maryland and Kentucky--before it was a state--and he has not seen it since." (So he must have been in Maryland and/or Kentucky ca. 1889-1891 perhaps).
Pension Service Record: William Elzey W3531, West Tenn. #19065, $98/year, issued
March 1, 1823.
Sarah Elzey, widow, Tenn, #1004, $120/year, issued April 1, 18--probably 1852).

Sarah ________ Elzey - born August 20, 1769

William Elzey, Sr. married Sarah ______ in Hawkins County, TN 4 Feb. (or Jan.) 1799.

Children born to William Elzey, Sr. and Sarah ______Elzey: (some birthdates are estimates)

1799 - Mary Elzey
1800 - Polly Elzey - (apparently married George A. Craig)
1801 - William Elzey, Jr. born June 20, 1801
1802 - Sarah Elzey
1805 - Ann Elzey - born July 8, l805
1806 - Elizabeth Elzey (may have married a RITTER) died August 8, 1847
1807 - Rebecca Elzey
1810 or l811 - Abraham Elzey - born March 14, l810 or l811
1812 or 1813 - Rice Elzey
1814 - John Elzey - born June 19, 1814
1820 - Jane Elzey - born June 27, 1820 (married James Thompson 11 June l845??)

DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW IF ONE OF THE DAUGHTERS MARRIED A RICHESON/RICHERSON/RICHARDSON?
