Hi Justin,

In answer to your question, yes she was Native American Indian. James Elyard"s first wife. He married her 5/23/1872. They had eleven children. I have the names birth dates and deaths of all of them. Five of them dies in 1886 of Dyptheria.
The ones that lived to have their own children wer George W.
Mary Jane, Joseph Earl, Maude Hannah, and Cora Estie.
James married 2nd time to Martha Lamb, she was much younger than he was and they had five more children.
Sameul Elyard never married. Henry James died at about 5yrs old, and Roy James died one year old Lorena Mae, and my father Willie Lee. He was two years old when his mother died. The oldest one Samuel went off to the World War One. Lorena Mae went to live with a Long Family at Port Republic, Va and my father was raised by Charles Shirey. They adopted him. and lived near Goods Mill, Va. My father and Lorena Mae remained close and raised large families. Their father James Elyard died about 1922. I do have more inforamtion on some of his sisters. His sister's Christina and Susan Catherine married two Payne brothers from Job, W.Va. His oldest brother Josiah had a large family too. Which line do you come from? Let me know if you need more infomation?
How do I get to the site with the Elyard lines and the Coat Of Arms. I got on to it last night and now I can't find it.
? I don't know what happened. Thanks

Janet St.Jean
