Ellyard/Elyard and variants

This forum seems very quiet at the moment (no messages posted recently) , but I am interested in making contact with anyone working on genealogy of ellyard/elyard and related names.

I live in Australia and am one of the few people carrying the name in double "l" spelling (much less common that the single "l"). Most of the rest live in Western Australia. My fathers ancestry is English, specifically the East Riding of Yorkshire, but research so far was found groups of ellyard/elyard families in a number of counties back to the 16th century, as well as variant spellings such as eliard, elliard, ellyarde and occasionally elliot and its variants.

Connection back to those early famililies along my line is current stalled in the early 18th century though a number of line sof investigation are being looked at. Among those is the possibility that ellyard (ealier eliard) is a Hugenot name.

Is any one reading this and would like to get in touch?
