Just for the record, it is my belief that William's ethnicity was in fact English. However, I believe he came from Ulster. Either he or one of his ancestors went from England to Ireland. Remember we know he was a dissenter (Presybeterian). In order to colonize Ireland the English began the plantation of Ireland and the English & Scots supplanted the native Irish from Ulster. I Think William's forerunners were part of the plantation.
This isn't my theory but as you know it was advanced by Elsie Warden.
Also, if William did not come to this country but was born here won't one of his childdren have know that or are you saying he wasn't born here but came directly from England.
