Bill, Leave it to me to take over three years to answer but I have been ill since Dec 2000.
John Wesley ELWOOD in my family was born 1 March 1866 in Fort Erie, Ontario, CA He is my great grandfather. He and my great grandmother, Dora HAHN married either before or after entering the US near Buffalo and are listed on the 1900 cencus in Buffalo, along with my grandfather and his sister. After moving to Pittsburgh before 1920 he later moved to Florida with my aunt and he passed away in 1944 in Palm Beach County. I have yet to run across anyone else researching this ELWOOD line.
